The left shot is the newer, more ‘dagger-friendly’ hand while the right shot has the hands that require the peg holes in order to hold the daggers.

The figure on the right shows the earlier production runs with the Blonde Hair, Green Cloak and no knapsack over his shoulder. Later runs, as seen in the picture on the left, shows the more accurate brownish hair with the brown cloak (had not made it to Lothlorien yet for the green Elven Cloaks) and the knapsack over his shoulder.
