Defending your Middle-earth Realm:
By participating in the Green Dragon forums, you earn rank within your Realm of choice. There are multiple Realms to choose from that represent all the peoples, beasts, shadow, and other entities of Tolkien's Middle-earth. First, you must have at least 50 posts to become a Realm Defender. Until you reach the 50 post mark, you are considered a wandering squire for the realmless! Earning rank is as simple as making VALUABLE posts (ah ah ah...no post padding please) in the loads of forum topic areas. Rank is achieved by meeting the milestones listed below. Once a member reaches the PEAK milestone (i.e. above 5000 posts) for that realm, they can choose to remain that Realm's HERO or choose an avatar of their choice...so long as it is Middle-earth related.

Important notes about Earning Realm Rank:
Remember that once you hit the 50 post mark to go into your profile and CHOOSE your realm. Once you have a realm, you can switch realms at any time and see what other avatar ranks are available to you. At each milestone, you should check all the realms out to see what suits you the best!
Jan 2010: We have updated the Realm Ranks to include two new milestones. Some members were actively posting and climbing in rank very quickly, so we had to add a couple new ranks!
